UNIVERSITÈ D'ÈTÈ 2024

Urban Landscape

Sala Piatti, Bergamo - 19 September

EVENT WILL BE TRANSLATED INTO ENGLISH AND ITALIAN

This year’s seminar, in line with the focus of "Facing the Crisis", aims to explore urban dynamics, address the challenges we face on a daily basis and define the preconditions for outlining a plausible future.

Starting from the premise that urban greenery is a fundamental element as a cultural catalyst, according to Nigel Dunnet the current situation requires a wider "green revolution", overcoming the limits of individual gardens to deal with daily systemic crises. The care of the landscape therefore becomes a care of ourselves.

Starting from these aspects, the seminar will examine the work of three professionals from South America, Europe and the United States. Successful models and failures that have helped shape such approaches will be analysed. We will ask ourselves about future challenges and try to imagine the nature of the relationship between the urban environment and green areas in the big centers of the near future, analyzing the benefits they will have on people.

The seminar aims to provide an in-depth vision of the union between urban landscape, green areas and impact on society.
